Durham Women kick-off our 2025/26 season on home soil with the visit of Charlton Athletic on Sunday, September 14 (12pm kick-off) – and we’ve got a big day planned!
It’s been a busy summer for the Blues who have signed seven new players – from internationals such as Mariana Speckmaier and Tyler Toland to exciting young talent like Grace Ede. A number of familiar faces have also extended their stays in Durham and the squad have already enjoyed some fantastic pre-season games.
But now full focus is on the start of the season, and our clash with the Addicks is our first outing at Maiden Castle during the new term.

The clash comes as the exciting new Barclays Women’s Super League 2 season begins, ahead of what is sure to be the most dramatic season yet – with more promotion places available then ever before. That means there’s plenty on the line and every game is crucial, so we need the Blue Army behind us more than ever before.
So to make sure we kick-off the season in the best possible way, we’re planning a big day on and off the field on September 14. Here’s what we’ve got planned for the fixture with Charlton Athletic:
- Player meet and greets – you’ll be able to meet our players, including summer signings, at the end of the game for autographs and selfies!
- FREE Giveaways! – from North East-based charity If U Care Share, who we will be dedicating the game to.
- Our Pathway teams as mascots and the Guard of Honour – as we introduce the crowd to the next generation of Durham Women players coming through the ranks!
- A half-time parade of our 2025/26 Sister Clubs – celebrating and promoting grassroots football in the North East. Find out more about our free Sister Club Programme and how you can get involved HERE.
- Food & Drink from Fat Frank’s Street Food – with a wide range of selection, plus we’ll also have Cafe Nero open serving a range of hot and cold food and drink throughout the afternoon
- Plus the unmissable action on the field – there were seven goals in this fixture last year, and another exciting contest is in store!
Over 9,000 fans attended Durham’s home games last season, and another bumper crowd is expected for this clash with hundreds of tickets already snapped-up. Supporters are therefore strongly advised to book tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment.
Supporters can purchase their tickets now via our easy-to-use online ticketing platform. Prices are as follows:
- Adults – £12
- Students – £8
- Child (16 & under) – £6

Group booking discounts are also available for groups of nine or more. Email mark.donnelly@durhamwfc.co.uk for more details.
It’s the start of an exciting new era and new season. Make sure you’re there.
