Durham Women FC are committed to operating in the most sustainable manner possible while reducing the environmental impact of our practices across all areas of the club wherever we can.
We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and, together with our players, our staff, our fans, our suppliers and our partners, we want to continue our journey to be more sustainable and encourage best practice.
Our main objectives in regards to sustainability are:
- Continue to investigate more sustainable transport options for all teams with the intent to reduce carbon emissions. We will aim to reduce the number of flights taken in place of more sustainable alternatives.
- We will look into carbon footprint offsetting initiatives and potential partnership
- Engage with supporters and offer new merchandise options that prioritise sustainability – such as reusable cups
- Ensure our club partners have sustainability at their core and do not engage in practices which are environmentally detrimental
- Continue to engage with our staff and involve them in sustainability projects
- Ensure all departments understand the importance of sustainability
- Work with our players across all age groups to discourage the use of single-use plastics wherever possible and provide more environmentally conscious options
