Travelling From Durham

If you’re coming from the centre of Durham, head towards Shincliffe via Stockton Road (A177) and you’ll find Maiden Castle on the left-hand side.

Travelling From Outside Durham

For those coming from further afield, exit the A1(M) at junction 61 and follow the signs for Durham. Continue straight along Durham Road (A177) until you see Maiden Castle on your right-hand side, just before entering the centre of Durham.

Parking Details

There is a whole host of parking at Maiden Castle, situated immediately as you enter the site. This is marked as ‘Car Park 1’ on the map below.

For high capacity fixtures, some fans may have to park in the overflow car park which is approximately 15 minutes walk away from Maiden Castle – as illustrated by ‘Car Park 2’ on the map below:

The blue route is the walking route from Car Park 2 to the ground.

Please arrive as early as possible to factor in potential walking time.

Public Transport – By Train

Durham Train Station is a 30 minute walk away from Maiden Castle, meaning you may wish to take a taxi or hop on one of the buses mention above to get to the ground. Durham staton is served regularly by trains along the East Coast Mainline.
