BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Coventry United (H)

Durham Women are back on home soil this weekend – as they welcome Coventry United to Maiden Castle.

After victory at Blackburn Rovers last time out, the Wildcats will look to continue building momentum in what is their penultimate home fixture of the campaign.

But standing in their way will be a Coventry side in a good vein of form – and who are looking to continue closing the gap on second-bottom Watford.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the game…

Durham Women v Coventry United

Date: Sunday 13th March

Kick-off time: 12pm

Gates open: 10:30am

Venue: Maiden Castle, DH1 3SE

Promoted to the FA Women’s Championship ahead of the 2019/20 season, Durham and Coventry have played out some memorable – and often high-scoring – encounters ever since.

And with Jay Bradford’s side on a good run of form, another entertaining encounter could be in store.

Coventry claimed a valuable three points at Crystal Palace in their last outing, with the three points taking them closer to survival.

Katie Wilkinson netted the decisive goal at Hayes Lane and she’ll be one that Durham will have to watch carefully this weekend – as well as wide players Olivia Fergusson and Destiney Toussaint.

In midfield, Charlie Estcourt and Mollie Green bring plenty of technical ability and are both a threat from set-plays, while the winter additions of Elisha N’Dow and Nat Haigh have added experience to the backline.

Having taken points from both Palace and Charlton in recent weeks, Bradford’s squad will no doubt arrive in the North East full of confidence.

Durham Women will be without forward Nicki Gears who remains sidelined with a long-term injury.
