Durham face Celtic on Sunday 9th August – as our preparations for the new season continue!
We’re looking forward to getting back in front of our fans again, with some of our summer signings set to be on show for the first time!
Ahead of the game, we’ve put together some FAQs to make your visit as enjoyable as possible:
When and where is Durham Women v Celtic taking place?
Durham Women v Celtic will take place on Sunday, 9th August with a 2:00pm kick-off.
The match will be held at South Shields FC, NE32 3UP.
Can I still get a ticket for Durham Women v Celtic?
Yes! Tickets for this game remain available and can be secured in two ways:
- Online – CLICK HERE to get your tickets via our online ticketing site, speeding-up your entry on the day!
- On The Day – Simply pay by card upon arrival at the ground
Is Match Day Hospitality available for Durham Women v Celtic?
Yes! Match Day Hospitality packages remain available.
You can book a a two-course Sunday Lunch and your choice of seat in the Main Stand for the following rates:
- £35pp – inclusive of a Match Ticket
- £25pp – for Season Ticket Holders

Is there somewhere for me to park at South Shields FC?
There is plenty of parking available around the ground on the local industrial estate.
Parking is available on both Shaftesbury Avenue and Bedesway, which are a short, level walk to the ground.
These streets are indicated in green on the map below:

Can I get to the ground via public transport?
Yes! South Shields FC is extremely accessible via public transport.
The Metro service links South Shields FC with both Newcastle and Sunderland train stations. If you are coming from Newcastle Central Station, board a Metro train heading towards South Shields from there, and alight at Bede station.
If you are coming from Sunderland train station, board a Metro train going towards Newcastle and alight at Pelaw station, before crossing the platform and boarding a train heading towards South Shields, and get off at Bede.
The ground is then within walking distance of Bede Metro Station. Alight at the station and go down the stairs before turning right if you have departed a train heading for South Shields, or turning left if departing a train going towards Newcastle.
At the next junction you come to, turn right, and there is then a short walk along Shaftesbury Avenue to reach the ground.
Local bus services operate to Simonside and the surrounding areas, which are again within walking distance of South Shields FC.
What time should I arrive for Durham Women v Celtic?
Supporters will be able to enter the ground from Noon, which is when the turnstiles will open.
Will I be able to get a seat in the ground?
Seating at South Shields FC is available and can be booked when purchasing your ticket online – simply select a seat when booking.
For those purchasing on the day, you will be able to access any available seat or any terracing area.

For this game, the Main Stand and terracing areas will be open for spectators.
Catering outlets will be open within the Main Stand only.
What’s happening and when at Durham Women v Celtic?
We’ve put a timetable for match day below!
12:00pm – Gates open
12:15pm – Pre-Match Hospitality service begins. Find out more HERE.
1:10pm – The teams will begin their warm-ups
2:00pm – Kick-off
3:45pm – Full-time – our players will come over to meet the fans!
What refreshments will be available?
Catering outlets will be open within the Main Stand, while the Pulman 1883 Bar will be serving refreshments.
You can also enjoy alcoholic drinks in view of the pitch – for the first-time ever at a Durham Women home game!
The Kets n Pop stall next to the clubhouse will also be open – serving crisps, sweets and non-alcoholic drinks.
Can I meet the players?
Of course!
Durham Women’s squad will be available for autographs, photographs and a chat after the game.

Just head to the front of the main stand once the final whistle has been blown!
