Durham sign forward Jade Pennock

Durham Women FC are delighted to announce the signing of forward Jade Pennock.

The 33-year-old becomes our first summer addition and makes the move to the North East having spent the last year with Sporting JAX in the USL Super League.

Pennock is no stranger to the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 having previously represented Doncaster Belles, Sheffield United and Birmingham City – netting over 50 goals in England’s second tier in the process.

She was also named the league’s Player of the Season following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season and has previously won the division with Doncaster Belles.

Speaking after joining Durham, Pennock said: “I’m really excited to be here.

“I was ready to come back and play in England again and I’ve played against Durham lots – it’s a difficult place to come.

“I like that it’s a tight-knit squad and it’s definitely somewhere I’ll fit in.

“I want to fit in with the team, play well, bring what I can bring to the team and contribute.”

The versatile forward began her career with Leeds United before moving to the University of Montevallo in America. After impressing with the Falcons, Pennock made the move to University of North Georgia.

On her return to England, she spent a brief spell with Harrogate Town before joining Doncaster Belles in 2017 – contributing heavily to their league-winning season in 2017/18 and scoring the goal that clinched the Belles the title.

A move to Sheffield United then followed with Pennock netting 40 times across a three-year spell as she helped the Blades consistently challenge at the top end of the table.

That fine form brought interest from a number of clubs, and the forward joined top flight side Birmingham City in 2021.

Pennock scored twice in the Barclays Women’s Super League and became a key player for the Blues – scoring a total of 20 across her five seasons in the Midlands.

The 2024/25 season brought a loan move to Central Coast Mariners, and Pennock was again a key part of a successful side as her seven goals helped the Mariners to the A-League championship.

And after joining Sporting Jax last summer, and scoring their first-ever goal in the USL, Pennock has now returned to England and joined Durham ahead of the 2026/27 Barclays Women’s Super League 2 campaign.
