Durham Women wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a valuable behind closed doors friendly against Manchester City.
Durham began brightly against a strong WSL side, with an early chance from Abbey Jones, shooting from close range.
Against the run of play, City opened the scoring in the 10th minute, with Vivianne Miedema heading in at the near post from a corner.
Durham remained a threat – with Beth Hepple looping a ball into the path of Grace Ayre, which was held by Keating before she could connect.
Lily Murphy doubled City’s advantage with a curling effort into the far corner.
Mariana Speckmaier was denied a debut goal as the Venezuela fired wide from the edge of the box.
Kerstin Casparij added a third for City before the hour mark, as her low shot found the bottom right corner.
City’s fourth came from substitute Laura Coombs in the 75th minute.
Michaela Foster’s free-kick allowed Durham a late chance, with the shot curling just wide of the target.
