Mollie Lambert wins NEFWA Player of the Year

Mollie Lambert picked up the 2024 North East Football Writers’ Association’s Women’s Player of the Year trophy

At a star-studded ceremony at Ramside Hall on Sunday, March 2, Lambert was honoured alongside Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Elysia Boddy and Sunderland’s Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham.

Mollie was presented her award by NEFWA chair, Colin Young, who said; ‘This year’s women’s player of the year vote was one of the closest in both the senior and young player categories and Mollie Lambert is a deserved winner from the region’s three Women’s Championship teams.’

Lambert is the seventh Durham player in a row to pick up the award, following team-mate Sarah Robson who has won it three previous years consecutively.

Mollie was joined at the ceremony by her family and teammates Lauren Briggs and Grace Ayre.

Congratulations, Lambo!
