Durham Women sign Canadian goalkeeper Rylee Foster

Durham Women FC are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian goalkeeper Rylee Foster.

The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a professional contract at Maiden Castle to become the club’s second winter signing.

Born in Ontario, Canada, Foster played for West Virgina University before moving to Liverpool in 2020, spending three years on Merseyside in both the Barclays Women’s Championship and the Barclays Women’s Super League.

She then joined Australian A-League side Wellington Phoenix in 2023 and was a near ever-present for The Nix during the 2023/24 season, featuring alongside Durham defender Michaela Foster, before signing for Everton in September 2024, being part of their Barclays Women’s Super League squads in the first half of this season.

After signing for Durham, she said: ‘I think being in the transfer window is full of uncertainty but I’m really happy to be in the North East, it’s a new environment, a new culture to get used to.

‘The first few days, I’ve really enjoyed it, and I’m excited to get started with the girls.’

On the international stage, Rylee has represented Canada at U17 and U20 level, while also earning senior squad call-ups. During this time, she won the Golden Glove in the U17 CONCACAF Championship in 2013 and featured in the 2014 FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup.

Rylee will wear the number 23 shirt for Durham.
