Durham Women’s Mollie Lambert has been named as the North East Football Writers’ Player of the Year for 2024!
Lambert will be presented with her award at the North East Football Writers’ Association annual awards dinner at the Ramside Hall Hotel on Sunday, March 2.
Mollie has made more than 100 appearances for Durham since joining the club in 2020, scoring six goals for the side in 2024.

NEFWA chair, Colin Young, said; ‘This year’s women’s player of the year vote was one of the closest in both the senior and young player categories and Mollie Lambert is a deserved winner from the region’s three Women’s Championship teams.
‘Mollie appeared in most of the football writers’ 1,2,3 votes in the senior award, befitting of her consistency for Durham Women over the last 12 months.’
Newcastle United pair Alexander Isak and Elysia Boddy have been named the North East Football Writers’ Association senior men’s and young women’s player of the year winners, with the winner of the men’s young player being announced later today.
