Durham defender Abby Holmes caught up with us to preview Saturday’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup
Holmes on her first week back after the winter break…
‘It’s been great to be back in with the girls, obviously looking forward to some exciting fixtures ahead, and some really good preparation for Brighton this week.’
Holmes on Saturday’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup game against Brighton & Hove Albion…
‘We’ve obviously got our game plan and we are going there to try and get a result.
‘We know they are a top quality, Super League side, but we’ll just play our game and see what happens after the end of the ninety minutes.’
Holmes on what the Adobe Women’s FA Cup means to the Club…
‘It’s excellent, being at the club previously, we’ve managed to get ourselves through to those further rounds.
‘I know there’s that money incentive, but it’s more for the pride of the Club and it’s nice to be able to play against Super League opponents at this stage and hopefully we can progress through to the next round.’
Holmes’ message for the travelling supporters…
‘We want to hear them loud and proud, the Blue Army, I know they’ll have missed it over the Christmas period so hopefully they’ll have their loud voices out and we can hear them all the way.’
