Anna King’s two penalty saves sealed us a penalty win over Sheffield United – and we spoke with her after the game.
Here’s how the stopper reflected on the clash…
King on the result…
“It is brilliant.
“We love those pressure situations, we love to play under that and it’s what we play football for.
“It is icing on the cake for me going to penalties and yeah, just brilliant.
“To have my family here and have them all be able to come down is what it’s about.
“Them being excited is as much of what you play football for as your own excitement, so to have it at home and have them here is brilliant and then to get the win tops it off.”
King on penalties…
“If you ask any of the players or staff, they’ll say penalties are something I enjoy.
“I enjoyed them and I’ve proved why I enjoy them today.”
King on an unbeaten November…
“It is perfect to build on.
“It shows what this group is about and it shows what we want to build here.
“We’re still building too, we are not the finished product yet and we know that.”
King on the final group stage clash at Sunderland…
“Again, pressured situations is what we’re here for.
“To have it against Sunderland in a derby is even better, so I think it would be the perfect end to what could be qualification.”
