We caught-up with Durham Women head coach Adam Furness after the draw at Southampton.
Here’s what he had to say on the point gained at St Mary’s…
Furness on the game…
“It certainly was [a tough battle].
“I think at the end of it, we’re probably fortunate to come out of it with a point.
“But there’s different ways to go through a game. Southampton are a really strong side, they had lots of the ball and made it difficult for us.
“Ultimately, the girls have shown loads of character, stayed in the game, hung in there at times, and then Mollie has come up with a brilliant equaliser and we’re heading home with a point.”
Furness on what changed at half-time…
“I just think we were a bit too passive.
“We probably got our engagement line wrong, we were a bit too deep and gave them too much time to get out.

“In the second half we managed to get much higher up the pitch and tried to threaten a little bit more.
“As the chances came and went for them we seemed to grow in confidence and a little bit of belief kicked in that perhaps we were going to get something today.”
Furness on Mollie Lambert’s equalising goal…
“It’s a brilliant goal from here.
“It’s a stereotypical Mollie Lambert goal – breaking through from midfield and a calm and composed finish.
“We’re absolutely delighted with it.”
