Becky Salicki spoke to the media ahead of our River Wear Derby clash with Sunderland on Sunday, October 20.
Here’s what she had to say…
Salicki on the season so far…
“It’s been a good start to the season.
“The cohesion in the group is really good at the minute and we want to keep building on that.
“We’ve all really come together this year. We’ve had some new players come in and we’ve really bought into the new coaches as well. They’ve brought a new mentality to us.
“I think the sky is the limit for this team.
“Everyone is willing to commit to everything and more, and it’s up to us how well we do.
“As long as we stick together then we’ll see where we get to. We aren’t getting too far ahead of ourselves – we’ve played a quarter of the league games.
“It’s down to us how far we go, but we’re all very committed to it.”
Salicki on the River Wear Derby…
“It’s always a special occasion when we play Sunderland.
“I spent many years there and I do have an affiliation to the club, but everything with myself now lies with Durham.
“It’s always a big occasion for us, but it has to be just another game.”
Salicki on Sunderland…
“They’re an amazing team.
“You saw how far they took the league last year with Crystal Palace.
“We know the qualities they’ve got and we’re very respectful of that.
“At the end of the day, it comes down to what wants it more on the day.”
