Durham Women welcome Sunderland to Maiden Castle on Sunday, October 20 – in another big game!
It’s the first River Wear Derby of the season and tops-off a thrilling month of action in the region, which has seen new fewer than three North East derbies.
Our biggest crowd of the season so far is expected in DH1 for the clash, with tickets continuing to sell quickly.
And ahead of the game, we’ve put together some FAQs to make your visit as enjoyable as possible:
When and where is Durham v Sunderland taking place?
Durham v Sunderland will take place on Sunday, October 20 with a 12:00pm kick-off.
The match will be held at Maiden Castle, DH1 3SE.
Can I still get a ticket for Durham v Sunderland?
Yes! Tickets for this game remain available and can be secured via our online ticketing site.

Please note that due to the expected demand, tickets will NOT be available to purchase on the gate. Tickets must be purchased online.
Please note that this game IS included for 2024/25 Season Ticket Holders.

I’ve ordered my Durham Women Season Ticket – can I collect it?
Yes – your Season Ticket can be collected at this fixture.
Season Tickets can be collected from the turnstile. Please bring proof of purchase where possible.

Is there somewhere for me to park at Maiden Castle?
Parking will be available for free in two car parks.
Car Park 1 is situated at Maiden Castle and is just steps from the entrance to the ground.
Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
If Car Park 1 is full, supporters will be asked to park in Car Park 2 – which is approximately 15 minutes walk away from the ground.
It is highly likely that Car Park 1 will become full for this fixture.
This is indicated on the map below:

We would therefore advise all spectators to arrive in plenty of time to ensure that they arrive at the ground in time for kick-off, should they have to walk from Car Park 2.
If you require accessible parking, please email mark.donnelly@durhamwfc.co.uk at least 48 hours before kick-off.
We would ask fans to walk or utilise public transport where possible.
What time should I arrive for Durham v Birmingham City?
Supporters will be able to enter Maiden Castle from 10:30am, which is when the turnstiles will open.
Will I be able to get a seat in the ground?
Seating at Maiden Castle is available on a first come, first served basis. We would therefore recommend that any fan wishing to secure a seat arrive for the turnstiles opening.
We would also ask all supporters to not sit in any seats marked as reserved.
Please note that fans cannot reserve seats by placing coats etc. over them.
There are a number of areas available for supporters wishing to stand, offering a great view of the action.

What refreshments will be available?
Fat Frank’s Street Food Trucks will be providing food and drinks at the game. Hot and cold options will be available, with cash and card accepted. The catering unit will be situated next to the turnstiles immediately as you enter the ground.
The Club Room Bar and Cafe Nero will also be open from 9:00am, with the entrance just before the turnstile outside the ground. The bar houses our Club Shop and offers a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There are also a range of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as gluten-free choices available here.

What merchandise will be available?
A wide range of merchandise will be available – including some new lines for the new season!
You can purchase merchandise in our Club Shop, which will be situated in the Club Room Bar.
