The River Wear Derby | What’s on at Durham v Sunderland

Durham Women continue our 2024/25 season on Sunday, October 20 (12pm kick-off) against Sunderland – and we’ve got a big day planned!

It’s the first River Wear Derby of the season as the Black Cats make the short trip down the A690 to Maiden Castle in a crucial game in the Barclays Women’s Championship.

Both teams are in fine form with Sunderland unbeaten in their last three and Durham currently sat second in the league having won four of their last five outings – including a dramatic 1-0 win at local rivals Newcastle United last Sunday.

And while there will be unmissable action on the pitch, we’re also making sure it’s a day supporters won’t forget off the field too!

Here’s what we’ve got planned for the fixture with Sunderland:

Player meet and greets – you’ll be able to meet our players, including summer signings, at the end of the game for autographs and selfies!

Over 50% of tickets for the game have already been snapped-up, with the fixture having been a sellout in recent years.. Supporters are therefore strongly advised to book tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment – as tickets cannot be purchased at the ground on the day of the game as things stand.
