Adam Furness was pleased with the way Durham Women showed both sides of their game during the win at Portsmouth.
Here’s what the Head Coach had to say after the 3-0 triumph on the south coast…
Furness on the result and performance…
“Over the moon with the three points off the back of a home win last week.
“We can’t really ask for much more.
“The first half we were absolutely dominant and if we’d been a bit more clinical we probably go in at half-time further ahead and with the game already in the bag.
“The second half, we showed a different side of our performance. We allowed them to have a bit more of the ball but I don’t think they really hurt us too much.
“On the counter attack we had chances to bury it and we got the third at the end, so it’s a happy journey home.”
Furness on resilience in the second half…
“A clean sheet on the road is massive for the group.
“We were really pleased with last week but to come and do it on the road here, it shows where the girls are at.
“Our targets for the season are endless now, I think.”
Furness on five different scorers in two games…
“In any successful team there’s probably a couple of scorers who feature on the scoresheet regularly, but to have people chipping in from all over the park gives us another dimension.
“Hopefully it’s another asset to go and win some games.”
Furness on the travelling support from the Blue Army…
“We’re down here on the south coast and to see the Durham fans that have travelled, and what it means to them as well, it’s incredible support.
“We’re all really grateful that they get behind us as they do.”
