We caught-up with Kaila Novak after the Canadian winger put pen to paper on a professional contract at Durham Women.
And here’s everything the forward had to say in her first interview…
Novak on joining Durham…
“Amazing, I love it here already.
“The girls are absolutely phenomenal, the coaching staff are incredible and the level of play is superb – so I couldn’t be happier being here.”
Novak on her determination to make the move happen…
“When I got the call that Durham wanted me here, I knew I had to make it happen and it did within a week.
“I’m so excited to be here, I was eager to be here.
“This is exactly where I want to be and I’m very happy.”
Novak on playing in England…
“It’s amazing.
“My Mum is from the Tottenham area so this feels like home, even if we’re further north.
“The UK in general is home to me and being on British turf where people have football in their culture means a lot to me.”
Novak on what attracted her to England…
“The whole team has an incredible plan in place.
“The coaches are phenomenal, the players – everything about this team is in a positive spirit.
“The way the coaches spoke and the way the players have taken me in, I know I’ve made the perfect choice.
“Before coming here I thought it was a perfect choice, and now being here it’s even more perfect than I imagined.”
Novak on what to expect this season…
“I’m definitely an entertaining, personality type player.
“I’ll be a bit tricky on the wing, fast-paced and very creative.
“And I’m hard-working as always.”
Novak on meeting our fans…
“I’m super excited to finally be face-to-face with them.
“I know they’re going to bring their A-game and be loud as ever so I can’t wait. I already have them in my heart.”
