We caught-up with Eleanor Ryan-Doyle after the striker netted in our 5-2 win over Liverpool Feds.
Persistence saw the Irish forward net her first of pre-season during the clash, and here’s how she reflected on the game…
Ryan-Doyle on the Liverpool Feds friendly…
“I think it was good to get another game under the belt coming in to a few weeks before the season starts.
“It’s great to have the first match with our fans at it too.
“We got a couple of early goals and they kind of got on top a little bit.
“It was a tough test and the sun didn’t really help.
“But people got minutes into their legs and it’s on to the next few games before the season starts.”
Ryan-Doyle after her first goal of pre-season…
“It’s come after a few weeks so I’m happy enough.
“No matter how they go in, it still counts so it’s a good start and hopefully there’s many more.”
Ryan-Doyle on starting to see signs of our style of play…
“I think the staff have really improved us.
“Our tactics are really starting to come through – the links with players and seeing how we want to play this season.
“Hopefully it comes together in the next few weeks before our first match against Sheffield.”

Ryan-Doyle on the impact of the fans at Penrith…
“They’re always the best supporters.
“They come no matter where we go in the country and they’re always behind us.”
Ryan-Doyle on Wednesday’s clash with Manchester United…
“It’s a big test.
“We’ll see where we are as a team and improve our fitness levels.
“They’re a top, top team so it’s a good test for us.”
