We sat down with Carly Johns after she became Durham’s third summer signing.
The striker makes the move from Watford after an eye-catching first season in the Barclays Women’s Championship – and here’s what she had to say…
Johns on joining Durham…
“I’m buzzing to be here.
“I played against Durham last season and they were a really tough challenge, so it’s good to get to know all the girls and the staff and I’m really happy to be here.”
Johns on her football journey…
“I started off my senior career at Oxford and was there for four seasons.
“I then moved to Watford in the Championship. It was quite challenging and a big step up but I’m glad I did it.
“I’m really looking forward to it and hoping to improve on those numbers from last season.”
Johns on what the fans can expect…
“I work really hard, making runs in behind, and I can come to feet as well.
“But ultimately I like to score goals and set other people up.”
Johns on why she chose Durham…
“The girls and how hard-working they are.
“The staff are all really ambitious and want to come in the top end of the league, so I’m really happy to be here.”
Johns on the Blue Army…
“I can’t wait to meet all the fans and play in front of them.
“I know they’re very loud!”
