Lily Crosthwaite took home the Players’ Player of the Year prize at our 2023/24 Awards – and we spoke to her shortly after she picked-up the award.
Here’s what the forward had to say:
Crosthwaite on being named Players’ Player of the Year…
“I’m just so grateful.
“I was surprised and I’m just super grateful. It’s all credit to my teammates who push my every week, every game and every training session.
“To receive it after a difficult season – I’m massively grateful.
“I think I’ve got some of the best teammates. They’re such a talented group and to be voted amongst all the other players – so many people could have had this – to receive the vote is massive.
“I owe it to them really.”
Crosthwaite on the 2023/24 season…
“It’s been a difficult season and a bit of a rollercoaster.
“We’ve had some amazing results and finishing on a win to end the season was great.
“We’ve had some super-exciting games as well and it would be hard to pick one or two moments, but I’m glad to just get more consistent and get game time under my belt.”
Crosthwaite on the upcoming campaign…
“We always say that we don’t get that much time-off – but when it comes to it you can’t wait to be back!
“I’m looking forward to pre-season already. Hopefully we can come in firing and kick-off the season well.”
