Supporters’ Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season was Sarah Wilson – and she spoke to us shortly after collecting her trophy.
Here’s what she had to say:
Wilson on the award win…
“It’s nice and really special.
“We know how important the fans are to the club and to be recognised by them is brilliant.
“They’ve been to the games week in and week out. Even when times are tough they keep coming back and I think that’s what’s special about the club.
“To be recognised by them is really important.”
Wilson on the 2023/24 season…
“The performances have been there and we’ve just been a little bit short of the result.
“We know that we don’t make it easy for teams to come to Maiden Castle and we make it difficult for teams when we’re away too.
“We just need to work on finishing games off and we will get there.
“Finishing on such a high this year means that we can really press on into next year.”
Wilson on the success across the club in the 2023/24 campaign…
“It’s incredible.
“You can see how much success all the teams have had; you can feel it in the room and it’s so special.
“There’s no other club like this and to be able to celebrate with everyone is amazing.”
