  • London City Lionesses are next up for Durham, as the league’s two independent women’s clubs meet in a crucial game.
  • The Lionesses are currently being led by interim head coach Darren Smith after parting company with Carolina Morace earlier this month.
  • Smith led the side in their Adobe Women’s FA Cup clash against Liverpool on Sunday – with the Reds running-out 2-0 winners in a closely-fought game.
  • London City are also set to face Arsenal on Wednesday evening in the last eight of the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup.

  • London City currently sit 10th in the Barclays Women’s Championship with 12 points on the board.
  • Their league record this season stands at: Played 15; Won 3; Drawn 3; Lost 9
  • Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah is the club’s current top scorer and has been in fine form since joining from Aston Villa in the summer.
  • She’s one to watch alongside skipper Lois Joel, former England international Danielle Carter and Irish midfielder Ruesha Littlejohn.


  • Our last meeting with London City Lionesses came back in September.
  • After a heavy defeat against Crystal Palace, Durham were targeting a response – and they got it in the most dramatic fashion at Maiden Castle.
  • After a cagey game, Amy Andrews netted a 96th minute to seal three points for the Blues on home soil.
