  • Watford make the trip to Maiden Castle for the first time since 2021 – having been promoted back to the Championship after winning the FA Women’s National League Southern League last season.
  • Damon Lathrope’s side beat Nottingham Forest in the promotion play-off to seal their spot in the second tier.
  • The Hornets’ record in the league this season currently stands at: Played 13; Won 1; Drawn 3; Lost 9.
  • Watford are the only side to have beaten table-topping Charlton Athletic in the league this season, running-out 3-2 victors at The Valley in September.

  • Carly Johns in the club’s top scorer with five goals, while Arsenal loanee Michelle Agyemang is another goal threat.
  • Experienced defender Harley Bennett, who joined from London City Lionesses in the summer, is the club’s captain.
  • Lathrope has so far added one player to his squad in the January transfer window, clinching a loan deal for Manchester United goalkeeper Safia Middleton-Patel.
  • Corinne Henson has been the only departure thus far, joining London City on a permanent deal.


  • Our last meeting with Watford came on the opening day of the 2023/24 Barclays Women’s Championship season.
  • Mollie Lambert handed Durham an early lead at Grosvenor Vale before Carly Johns levelled the scores in a 1-1 draw.

  • Durham travelled to Lewes last weekend and secured a 1-1 draw courtesy of Ellie Hack’s injury time own goal.
  • Watford were also on the road as they headed to Southampton, where Sophia Pharoah’s brace helped the Saints to a 3-0 win.
