Head Coach Claire Ditchburn offered her thoughts after the defeat at Birmingham City.
On the performance and result…
“It’s very disappointing.
“I felt like we started poorly, we were slow to get going, and after that we left ourselves with an uphill task.
“Once we got going, I thought we played some good stuff and we scored our goal after a really nice passage of play.
“But unfortunately it was just inconsistent and that’s something we have to work on moving forward.
“When we play good football, we know what we’re capable of and we can cause teams problems.
“But we can’t give teams the head start and start as slowly as we did today.”
On Eleanor Ryan-Doyle’s second goal in as many games…
“She’s in great form.
“She looks hungry for goals every time she plays and she gets herself into great positions.
“All credit to her, it’s just unfortunate we couldn’t get the result to go with it.”
On the vocal away support…
“It’s becoming expected, almost, that every game we go to we’ll have this great support.
“It felt almost like a home game at times which is amazing – to come to such a big stadium and still be able to hear them so we thank them for that.”
On having the chance to bounce back against Sheffield United on Thursday…
“The girls are a really honest bunch and they’ve held their hands up.
“They’re the first to say that they want to put things right as soon as possible, so we’re looking forward to the game on Thursday.”
