Durham Women’s three international players are set to return to the club ahead of Sunday’s River Wear Derby – and here’s how they fared while representing their countries…
Saoirse Noonan (Republic of Ireland)
It was a successful international break for Noonan and her nation, who secured back-to-back wins over Albania.
A 5-1 win at home was followed by a 1-0 triumph during a rain-interrupted away game – with those results enough to see Eileen Gleeson’s side earn promotion to the UEFA Nations League A.
Poppy Pritchard (England U19s)
On her second England camp, Pritchard once again caught the eye with some fine performances.
She netted in the 5-1 win over Wales which came either side of triumphs over Greece and Czechia – as the Young Lionesses kicked-off their European Championship qualification round in style.
Sarah Robson (Northern Ireland)
Northern Ireland faced challenging back-to-back fixtures against Hungary in the UEFA Nations League.
After a heartbreaking late 3-2 defeat in the away fixture, the GAWA earned a valuable point courtesy of a 1-1 draw on home soil.
All three players now return to Durham ahead of our big Barclays Women’s Championship game with Sunderland this Sunday (November 5, 12pm kick-off).
