International Round-Up: How Durham’s Trio Fared

Durham Women’s three international players are set to return to the club and here’s how they fared while representing their countries…

Saoirse Noonan (Republic of Ireland)

Noonan was part of the Ireland squad who, under the leadership of Eileen Gleeson, kicked-off their UEFA Nations League campaign with two wins.

A 3-0 win over Northern Ireland in front of a packed-out Aviva Stadium was followed by a 4-0 triumph in Hungary, leaving Ireland top of their group after the first round of fixtures.

Poppy Pritchard (England U19s)

A first England camp for the youngster yielded fine results.

Pritchard netted on her debut in the 5-0 win over Denmark before scoring twice and providing an assist as the Young Lionesses came from behind to draw 3-3 with Germany at St George’s Park.

Sarah Robson (Northern Ireland)

It was an international break to remember for Robson – who earned her 100th cap for the GAWA.

That landmark moment came during a 1-0 win over Albania, which saw Tanya Oxtoby’s side earn a first three points in the UEFA Nations League after their opening fixture defeat to the Republic of Ireland.

All three players now return to Durham ahead of our big Barclays Women’s Championship game with Reading this Sunday (October 1, 12pm kick-off).
