Jess Clarke signs new Durham Women contract

Durham Women are delighted to announce that forward Jess Clarke has signed a new contract with the club.

The former Lioness, who has 52 caps for England, made the move to Maiden Castle last summer after leaving Sheffield United.

And she quickly became a firm favourite, scoring five times during her debut season with Durham – including memorable strikes against Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

Now, Clarke will continue her career in Blue and expressed her delight at penning a new deal in the North East.

“I’m over the moon,” she said.

“I really enjoyed being at Durham last year and I had a great season. It was my first year back being full-time and I fitted in really well to the environment with the squad and staff.

“I’m really happy to extend my contract here and be part of Durham’s future.

“I can’t wait to get back out at Maiden Castle too. I love the fans and to be fair, I think they love me as well!

“The fans are absolutely brilliant and I love playing for Durham.”
