We caught-up with Becky Salicki and discussed the hard work of pre season, huge season ticket sales and the pathway for youngsters through Durham Sixth Form Centre.
Becky said:“Pre season has been tough but it is what we expected, it has been good to get back into the swing of things.
“Morale has been really high which has been class, we have all came in good spirits and just could not wait to get going.”
“There seems to be a different feel around the place this year, we were all disappointed with how we finished last season but everyone has come back in and we are flying and all working hard to improve next season.”
Becky then spoke on how much she is looking forward to get competitive action back underway.
“Very excited!
“We have all enjoyed having a little break but at the same time we have missed it.
“We are excited to get back in, there are games coming thick and fast in pre season and we just can’t wait for the season to start at the end of August.”
Becky then went on to speak about the fans and the huge season ticket sales we have had so far in preparation for the new season.
“The season ticket sales have been incredible.
“The fans mean everything to every single one of us, they are why we do it, we would not do any of it without them. The buzz that we get when we come here is incredible. They are part of the reason why we did so well here at home last season.
“If you are from the area and want to come and watch some good football get yourself a season ticket!”
Finally, Becky spoke about the pathway available for youngsters from Durham sixth form centre and spoke about how they have coped with the step up to first team football.
“They have all done very well, I would argue that they are better than me!
“They are class and have done well to keep their feet grounded and they just need to keep doing that. They are working extremely hard and we are there to push them all the way.”
“I am very excited, I have said for while that they are gong to be future stars and hopefully we can help them develop here at Maiden Castle”
