Durham Women FC can today provide an update on proposals to change our club crest.
We thank all supporters who completed our poll and who provided feedback either directly to the club or via our Supporters’ Club.
While a large proportion of supporters polled were in favour of adopting the proposed design, it is clear that a significant number were not fully comfortable with the change at this point.
In addition to this, the voting turnout was not viewed as significant enough to fully represent the views of the entire fanbase.
Therefore, we will not be adopting the proposed crest ahead of the 2023/24 season.
However, what the process has made clear is that there is a strong desire within the fanbase to adopt a new crest in the future.
The club will continue to explore changing the crest over the coming seasons, while continuing to fully consult with our Supporters’ Club and the wider fanbase on the matter.
