Tatiana Saunders says she wants to contribute as much as possible during Durham Women’s run-in – having recently returned from injury.
The stopper missed a section of the season but has returned to the squad in recent weeks to push and support fellow goalkeeper Naoisha McAloon.
And Saunders says she is keen to help the side as much as possible – whether on the pitch or off it – during the remaining weeks of the campaign.
That starts with this weekend’s trip to Southampton, and we caught-up with Saunders before the clash:
Saunders on returning from injury…
“It’s amazing, I’m buzzing to be back with the girls and training again.
“We’ve got seven games to go, which is plenty of time to get points.
“I want to contribute as much as I can, supporting and pushing Naoisha and training hard.”
Saunders on the club’s GK Union…
“We have a terrific goalkeeper union and we have done since the beginning.
“When I was out injured I got a tremendous amount of support and we want to keep building on that.
“It’s competitive, the training standards are high and we’re pushing each other – but at the same time we’re always there to support each other and have each other’s backs.”
Saunders on the trip to Southampton…
“It’s a big pitch, a long away trip – but we’re ready for a battle.”
Saunders on the away support heading to Southampton…
“Our fans are terrific.
“There’s no distance that is too far for them and they bring a bit of Durham everywhere we go.
“It doesn’t matter what pitch we’re on, we feel like we’re at home with them.”
