INTERNATIONALS: How Durham Women’s Players Fared

It was a fruitful international period for Durham Women’s travelling quartet.

And ahead of their return to the North East, we take a look at how each player fared with their respective nation…

Maria Farrugia & Alex Gatt – Malta

Forward Farrugia started both games for Malta as they took on Luxembourg in a double header of friendly fixtures.

And it was a successful international break for the side, who claimed 2-1 and 3-1 triumphs over their opponents.

WSL Academy squad player Gatt had a week to remember too, as she was introduced as a substitute in the second game to make her senior international bow.

McAloon was part of the Republic of Ireland squad who have travelled to Marbella for a warm weather training camp ahead of the summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.

She played 45 minutes in a behind closed doors friendly against Germany, before Vera Pauw’s side drew 0-0 with China PR on Wednesday afternoon.

Ella Wilson – England U18s

Wilson made her first England under-18 appearance as she came on for the final twenty minutes against the Republic of Ireland at St George’s Park.

The Young Lionesses fell to a 2-1 defeat against a strong Irish side.
