INTERVIEW: Robson On 150th Appearance & Peterborough Win

Sarah Robson says it’s ‘amazing’ to hit 150 appearances for Durham – after reaching the milestone in the win over Peterborough United.

The Northern Irish international became the fourth-ever player to hit the landmark appearances number, and we caught up with her after the Vitality Women’s FA Cup clash:

Robson on grinding out the win at Peterborough United…

“That’s all we talked about at half-time – it doesn’t matter how we win, we just have to win the game.

“Fair play to Peterborough. They were brilliant all game, defended well and I’m just really happy with our character that we got a goal in the end.”

Robson on Peterborough…

“They were brilliant.

“They were hard-working and we knew we’d play a team like that.

“I’m just happy for us because in years gone by we might have conceded a chance and lost the game, so it just shows we can dig deep with that Durham spirit.”

Robson on Rio Hardy’s stunning goal…

“We were asking why she was shooting – then next thing it’s in the back of the net!

“We’ve had a long break and it’s great for Rio to get a goal. We really needed it.”

Robson on hitting 150 appearances…

“It’s amazing.

“When I came to Durham I didn’t think I’d get 50 appearances, never mind 150!

“It’s testament to the club that I’ve been able to stay here and play every week. I’m really proud of that.”

Robson on our travelling support…

“They’re incredible.

“They come every week and it’s amazing. We can hear them throughout the game, even over the home fans.

“We need them every week.”
