As the festive season approaches, Durham Women FC are once again doing their bit to help those who would otherwise go without at Christmas.
And this year, players and staff at the club are backing local organisation Norah’s North Pole – and are encouraging supporters to do the same.
Norah’s North Pole was set up in memory Norah Wilkinson, who lived by the motto ‘It’s nice to be nice’. Each Christmas Norah would take her grandchildren to make Christmas boxes for children who would go without. Norah’s daughter, a social worker, would then deliver these on Christmas Eve to families most in need.
Norah, died in 2015 aged 92, but her tradition has continued and now her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are determined to continue her kind work. After successfully delivering 13,876 Santa sacks over the past 6 years Norah’s North Pole are committed to sprinkling a little Christmas kindness again this year.

And Durham Women FC are looking to help that goal by holding a collection for the organisation at their final home game of 2022 – against Bristol City on Sunday, December 4.
Players and staff will all be contributing and we would kindly ask those supporters who are able to, to donate to this worthy cause as well.
A collection bucket will be situated at the entrance to the ground where cash-only donations will be accepted – with a suggested donation of £5. Every penny will go straight to Norah’s North Pole.
We’ve raised some staggering sums for local charities in the past, so please help us and Norah’s North Pole make a difference this Christmas.
