CONTRACT: Naoisha McAloon Pens New Deal

Durham Women are delighted to confirm that Naoisha McAloon has signed a new contract with the club.

The stopper joined the club in January 2022 and made a quick impression at Maiden Castle both on and off the field.

McAloon went on to make nine appearances in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign – with her performances rewarded with a call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad for their summer fixtures.

And now the former Peamount United ‘keeper is looking to kick-on in a full-time environment.

“I’m delighted and I can’t wait to get going,” she said.

“It’s been a great pre-season so I’m buzzing to be back and I can’t wait to see how we get on.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to be a full-time footballer and to be able to do it at a club like Durham, I couldn’t ask for anything better.

“I’m delighted for the club and the players, they all deserve it.

“It’s such a great group of players and staff, a great environment and I’m just buzzing.”

And McAloon is also excited to play in front of Durham’s passionate support once again – with a sellout crowd set to watch the season opener against Sunderland.

“The fans are absolutely brilliant,” she added.

“They get behind us every week, they travel with us and they really get behind us.

“They always give us that extra push that we need.”
