BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Watford (A)

Durham Women are back on the road this weekend as they travel to face Watford on Sunday.

After defeat at Liverpool last weekend, the Wildcats will be looking to bounce back when they head to Kings Langley.

But they will face a resurgent Hornets side, who have picked up some eye-catching results of late as they look to climb further away from the foot of the table.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the clash at the Orbital Fasteners Stadium…

Watford were one of two teams promoted to the FA Women’s Championship last season after impressing in the FA Women’s National League.

The Golden Girls are currently second bottom of the league, six points clear of Coventry having played a game more – but their league position doesn’t reflect some improved performances of late.

Laura Dyer and Armand Kavaja’s side were narrowly beaten by Sunderland last week having claimed a massive win over London City Lionesses in their prior fixture.

And the management duo will be able to call upon plenty of experience within their ranks.

Up front, Welsh international Helen Ward is joined by the likes of Sarah Wiltshire, Gemma Davison and Ade Fatuga-Dada to create an exciting frontline.

Andria Georgiou recently bolstered the midfield while Amber Stobbs and Anne Meiwald brings some second tier experience to the backline.

Durham Women will be without forward Nicki Gears who is continuing her comeback from a long-term injury.

Stay tuned for a pre-match interview from within the camp.
