Durham Women return to action this weekend with a trip to Everton in the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup – and here’s everything you need to know…

After a pause in fixtures due to the international break, the Wildcats will tackle the top-tier side in their final game in the competition.

The fixture kicks-off a busy December for Durham who will also take part in the Third Round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup before then facing Blackburn Rovers.

And here’s all the key information ahead of the trip to Walton Hall Park on Sunday…

It’s been a season of change for Everton who, after a busy summer in the transfer market, recently appointed former Lyon boss Jean-Luc Vasseur as their new manager.

The Frenchman has enjoyed an encouraging start to life on Merseyside and secured a vital three points against Leicester City in their most recent outing.

And Vasseur has inherited a squad packed full of talent in all departments.

Sandy MacIver has been a regular in England squads this term and could start in goal, while in front of her the likes of Gabby George and Danielle Turner have been long-serving members of the squad.

In the middle, Izzy Christiansen can dictate the game and supply plenty of ammunition for the Valerie Gauvin, Anna Avengard and Toni Duggan up top.

Durham Women will be without forward Nicki Gears who remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

We caught-up with Ellie Christon ahead of the clash, and you can watch the interview below:
