BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Coventry United (A)

Durham Women return to league action this weekend with a trip to Coventry United – and here’s everything you need to know…

While the Wildcats fell to defeat against top tier side Leicester City in midweek, it was an evening packed full of positives for the side as they put in a strong performance against the Foxes.

Now, with another international break looming, the key will be to try and carry that momentum forward into the FA Women’s Championship.

And here’s all the key information ahead of the trip to the Butts Park Arena on Sunday…

It was a summer of transformation for Coventry United who, under the guidance of long-serving manager Jay Bradford, became a full-time outfit.

Some players departed the Red and Green over the summer – with the experienced Sue Wood and Helen Dermody among those to move on – but number of players remained with the club.

Indeed, the likes of Alannah Mann, Katy Morris and Destiney Toussaint have all been regulars this term and have complimented well a host of new faces.

They included the prolific Katie Wilkinson and Rio Hardy, midfield duo Mollie Green and Charlie Estcourt and the defensive nous of Naomi Hartley and Grace Riglar.

While Coventry currently sit bottom of the FA Women’s Championship, their performances of late have been vastly improved.

The side have already secured valuable points against promotion-chasing London City Lionesses and Bristol City and are have been unlucky in some of their recent outings.

Results will no doubt come soon, as the new-look team continue to gel.

Durham Women will be without forward Nicki Gears who remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

Stay tuned for a pre-match interview.
