BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Crystal Palace (A)

Durham Women return to league action this weekend with a trip to Crystal Palace – and here’s everything you need to know…

The Wildcats travel to Hayes Lane off the back of a midweek trip to Manchester City, where the result perhaps didn’t reflect the side’s endeavour and resilience.

And here’s all the key information ahead of the trip to Bromley…

Palace have grown into a side consistently challenging in the FA Women’s Championship and, after an impressive summer recruitment drive, have begun this season brightly.

They won their opening game against Bristol City after a thrilling performance and have also secured promising results against Sheffield United and Coventry United.

Currently sat 9th in the table, the Eagles drew with Watford last weekend and will be targeting more points on the board ahead of back-to-back home fixtures.

And that league position isn’t reflective of a squad packed with quality – particularly in the final third.

Bianca Baptiste, Siobhan Wilson and Millie Farrow are all proven at this level and will receive plenty of service from the likes of Kirsty Barton and Coral Haines.

And this weekend will, of course, see Durham reunited with two former Wildcats in Annabel Johnson and Molly Sharpe.

Durham Women will be without forward Nicki Gears who remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

Speaking ahead of the game, Sarah Wilson said: “That [the league] is obviously our main focus.

“We’ve got a few days to rest and recover and we’ve got fantastic support behind us.

“The team behind the team are working hard to make sure we’re ready for the weekend and all our preparation has gone into that to make sure we’re ready to go again.”

Tickets for the game are available now via Crystal Palace’s ticketing site.

They are priced at the following rates:

  • Adults – £8
  • Over 65 – £5
  • Under 16 – Free

Adult tickets will increase by £2 if purchased on the day.

There is no specific away fan seating for this fixture.

The game will take place at Hayes Lane, Bromley.

The postcode for the ground is BR2 9EF. Parking is available at the stadium.

The nearest station to the ground is Bromley South, which is approximately a 20 minute walk from Hayes Lane.

We will have live coverage of the game on our Twitter account – @DurhamWFC.
