NEWS: Durham Women To Host Football Academy Open Day

Aspiring footballers from across the North East are invited to an open day to find out more about Durham Women FC’s Football Academies.

The Wildcats currently run three Football Academies alongside our education partners, which are located at:

  • Durham Sixth Form Centre
  • Bede Sixth Form (Stockton)
  • Newcastle College

These academies ensure players on our talent pathway can combine their studies with playing football.

This ensures our players become well-rounded people, and allows their studies and sporting ambitions to work together in tandem.

You don’t have to be a Durham Women FC player to access this great opportunity – any player, regardless of the club you play for or your footballing experience – is more than welcome to apply to join one of our educational partners.

Your fixtures will take place on a Wednesday – meaning you’re free to represent another club on weekends.

You’ll have the chance to represent Durham Women in competitions such as the National Football Youth League and the FA WSL Academy Cup, playing some of the best players and teams in the country.

If you’d like to find out more, attend our Open Evening on Wednesday, November 3.

The evening will begin at 6:30pm with a brief indoor presentation before interested players then take part in a fun training session – so make sure you bring your kit and footwear suitable for an artificial surface!

You’ll be able to find out more about the coaching you’ll receive, the competitions you can compete in and the educational opportunities available – from A-Levels to BTEC qualifications.

Durham Women FC first-team players will also be in attendance.
