Bridget Galloway admitted she was ‘buzzing’ to get off the mark in the 2021/22 season after netting in Durham Women’s win over Lewes.
The striker fired home from a corner to put the Wildcats in command and she played a key role in securing the 2-0 win.
And Galloway was naturally delighted to have found the net for the first time this campaign.
“I’m buzzing,” she said.
“It’s my first goal of the season, getting off the mark – it’s a great way to get started, especially going into next week.
“I’ve been getting closer and closer and today was the day when it’s hit the net.”
“I think that second goal just gave us the security,” she continued.
“We had the momentum going into the second half and we almost got a third at the end too.”
The win over the Rooks saw Durham clock-up a third straight triumph – and while confidence in the camp is growing, Galloway knows the side can’t get carried away.
“The team spirit is growing and each week we’re growing in confidence – and I think that’s evident on the pitch and in our performances.
“But each game is as tough as each other.
“We don’t look at any as being harder than others – each game will be a test.”
