NEWS: Galloway Extends Stay

Durham Women FC are delighted to confirm that Bridget Galloway will remain with the club for the 2021/22 season.

The striker joined the Wildcats last summer and netted eight times during her debut season at Maiden Castle.

Galloway scored some crucial goals – including a late leveller against Charlton Athletic and the winner at home to London Bees – and ended the season with a brace against Coventry United.

And the forward is now targeting further improvements in the upcoming FA Women’s Championship campaign.

“I am very excited and I can’t wait to get back into pre season with all the team,” she said.

“The team spirit and atmosphere at the club is fantastic. It is a really exciting time to be a Durham player.

“I believe we can go all the way and get promoted this year. We have a great team ethos and a gifted set of players who are all focused on winning the league.

“It will be amazing to have the fans back this year. When the fans are present it’s like having an extra player on the pitch.”

Manager Lee Sanders added: “Bridget has fitted in so well since her arrival and is a young player who is always wanting to learn and develop herself.

“She scored some important goals at important times last season and we are all delighted she has committed for a longer term as she looks to build on her first season.”
