Durham Women continue their FA Women’s Championship campaign with a trip to Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
It’s the Wildcats’ second away trip in two weeks, and they will face a side who have been a notoriously tough nut to crack in recent years.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the fixture:
Having been a major force in the FA Women’s National League last season, Blackburn were deservedly promoted to the FA Women’s Championship in 2019 – and have become an established side in the second tier.
Under the guidance of Gemma Donnelly and Katie Quinlan, Rovers have secured some eye-catching results and are a tough team to beat.
Goalkeeper Alex Brooks has caught the eye this term, while the backline includes the likes of Jade Richards and Ellie Fletcher who offer great experience at this level.
Further up the field, Natasha Fenton can pull the strings in midfield while Saffron Jordan and Elise Hughes are a fearsome front two.
Stay tuned for a pre-match interview!
