Durham Women FC are delighted to confirm that our Regional Talent Club has been granted ‘elite’ status – meaning our young players can soon return to training.
Government lockdown measures meant that all Regional Talent Club activity stopped in late 2020 – with our coaches and staff having worked tirelessly since to ensure our players kept up the hard work from home, with Zoom sessions and challenges meaning the youngsters were kept active and mentally engaged during a difficult period.
And we are now delighted to have received permission from the Football Association to return to training on Wednesday, March 10 after hard work from both club staff and those at Durham Univesity.
Speaking after receiving the news, RTC and Academy manager Maddy Wood said: “It’s brilliant that we have been granted elite status and can get the girls back into training, it’s been a long time coming.
“Thanks to all the hard work from Durham Women and Durham University we are able to offer an extremely safe environment for the RTC to return and we can’t wait!”
Training will resume on Wednesday, March 10 for all Regional Talent Club age groups.
