Lauren Briggs spoke to the club’s official website ahead of the visit of Blackburn Rovers.
And here’s what she had to say in the build-up to the game…
Briggs on the break in fixtures:
“It’s been a great couple of weeks of training.
“It’s times like this where you really need to come together and make a massive push in before the Christmas break.
“We’ve ran all the way through and we know how essential a win is on Sunday – so hopefully we come out with a good win.”
Briggs on a new role in the side…
“It’s a new role but I’ve got to adapt and give my all every game.
“To be fair, it’s been quite natural. It’s just about us all coming together and getting the three points.”
Briggs on a sustained run in the team after injury…
“It’s probably been about four years since I’ve had a consecutive run of games, but I worked really hard over the first lockdown to get myself really fit.
“We had some vigorous training sessions, and I’ve been doing some extra sessions to try and maintain my fitness.
“I feel good and now hopefully we can deliver a really good performance on Sunday.”
Briggs on the togetherness in the camp…
“I think that’s why we’re getting the results and playing well.
“We can be proud of the performances we’ve put in and it showcases how together we are as a team.
“We’re one big family and you really want to fight for each person. Every tackle, there’s another person there supporting you and that’s why we’re performing well.”
