Durham Women can today provide an update on our first-team players currently undergoing rehabilitation as they continue their journey back towards playing.
Here, club physio Nat Gutteridge explains where each player currently is and the programmes of support:
NG: “Becky suffered a fracture to her shin in the game on Sunday against London Bees
“She got an X-ray (Monday) and a scan (Tuesday) arranged quickly to confirm the diagnosis.
“She will remain in a moon boot for six weeks whilst undergoing a gym programme. This will allow us to maintain her fitness levels so that she is ready to get back out onto the pitch swiftly once the fracture is fully healed.”
NG: “Abby has picked up a knee injury and we arranged a scan and consultation with the surgeon within a couple of days.
“She has a torn meniscus and she will have an operation within the next couple of weeks.
“The length of the rehab will depend on the outcome of the surgery but she has already started a rehab programme to help aid her recovery.”
NG: “Unfortunately, Iris ruptured her ACL in the first game of the season against Liverpool.
“She was quickly able to see the surgeon and after allowIng the swelling to settle she is now undergoing a pre-surgery rehabilitation programme in preparation for an ACL reconstruction next month.”
