HEPPLE: ‘It Doesn’t Get Much Better’

Beth Hepple says she was ‘delighted’ to net a hat-trick on her 150th appearance – but was even more pleased to see Durham claim the three points against Coventry United.

And the midfielder is now looking to carry that performance into the weekend clash with Crystal Palace.

Here’s what Hepple had to say after the game:

On her hat-trick on her 150th appearance…

“I’m delighted, and I’m just glad – as a team – we played tonight.

“Especially in the second half, we showed our quality, so that was the main aim.

“It doesn’t get much better, does it? So hopefully I can keep doing it this year and we’ll see what happens.”

On the Wildcats’ performance…

“I think we had a bit of a slow start, but we all recognised that and stepped it up a gear towards the end of the half.

“We said at half-time that it needed to be better, but I think we did well overall.”

On the three debutants…

“Brooke, Grace and Lily did brilliant.

“They’re such good young players who will only kick on over time, and it’s so exciting to watch them.”

On Crystal Palace…

“It’s now about recovering. We only have a few days so we have to recover, rest-up and eat right.

“We need to be ready again on Sunday because it’s going to be a big battle.”
