Four goals in three games is an impressive start to the 2020/21 season – and Beth Hepple says she owes it all to the hard work done during lockdown.
Speaking to the FA, she said: “I worked really hard during lockdown and had a word with myself at the start of the season to say we have to really go for it this year.
“I think I’m capable of scoring those goals but I just don’t back myself sometimes. I’ve worked really hard with the coaches and I’m glad it’s paid off.
On the London City win, she added: “It was an intense game. I don’t think London City created that much but it was scrappy.
“I think they came here to try to get at us but we more than matched them physically and we pushed all the way through the 90 minutes and I think we deserve the three points.
“We’ve had a tough start to the season and it’s going to continue every week, every game is going to be a battle like that.
“The Championship is getting better every year and we have another massive game against Leicester next week, but this win will hopefully push us on.”
