WILSON: “Keep Pushing & Building”

Sarah Wilson is keen to see the Wildcats keep building on their positive start to the season when London City Lionesses visit Maiden Castle.

But the Durham captain is under no illusions as to the scale of the test Lisa Fallon’s side will pose.

Here’s what the skipper had to say ahead of the visit of the Lionesses:

On the win over Lewes…

“We left it a little bit late to get going, but all credit to Lewes – they came with a gameplan and did it well.

“It took us a while to break them down but as soon as we got one we got a couple and that made it a little bit more comfortable for us.

“Obviously we want to go and take all three points, but a clean sheet is always an added bonus too.”

On our next opponents, London City Lionesses…

“It’s tough because we don’t know much about them, really.

“We know what past results are like and how we’ve played against them before, but things have changed.

“When it’s a new season you have to start everything fresh, and we know it’s going to be an absolute battle.”

On making our new ground a fortress…

“We’re building towards that.

“We know New Ferens Park was a tough ground to go, and we’re hoping to do the same here.

“We just need to keep pushing and building on the past results and make it difficult for everyone.”
