Durham Women welcome London City Lionesses to Maiden Castle – as the 2020/21 FA Women’s Championship campaign.
With both teams harbouring ambitions of promotion, it’s sure to be another intriguing clash.
As per current government guidance, this fixture will be played behind closed doors.
Durham Women FC kindly ask all supporters to refrain from travelling to the ground, and to follow the game from home.
And ahead of the game, here’s everything you need to know – from stream details to social media coverage and more:
Under the guidance of new manager Lisa Fallon, it looks set to be an exciting campaign for London City Lionesses – who have added further to their already talented squad.
New signing Shae Yanez brings experience between the sticks while a frontline boasting the likes of Liz Ejupi, Freda Ayisi, Kallie Balfour, Atlanta Primus and Juliette Kemppi will undoubtedly ask questions of the Wildcats’ backline.
The Lionesses began their season with a 4-1 defeat to Sheffield United, but followed that up with a 1-1 draw away at Crystal Palace in their last outing.
WE’VE MET BEFORE
Our most recent league meeting ended in a 1-1 draw in the North East, with Kallie Balfour’s strike cancelling out an early own goal.
In the reverse fixture last season, the Wildcats ran out 6-0 winners. Iris Achterhof and Beth Hepple netted braces with Molly Sharpe and Lisa Robertson also among the goals.
Captain Sarah Wilson said: “We’re expecting another tough test.
“We know how we’ve played against them in the past, but things can change.
“When it’s a new season, you have to start everything fresh and we know it will be an absolute battle.”
The match will be played at Maiden Castle.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS FIXTURE WILL BE PLAYED BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.
